Group Activity Ideas

Virtual Card-Making Event

Get your team together on a call and spend 30 minutes making cards for nursing home residents, hospitalized patients, and frontline workers. All you need is paper and a pen, and every single card ends up with someone who needed it.

Good for: Companies, nonprofit organizations, remote teams

A university alumni group in New York City made holiday cards together over video call.

Church members in Vancouver, Canada gathered to make cards for local seniors.

Students in Salt Lake City, Utah made cards as a class activity.

In-Person Card-Making Afternoon

Gather your group to make cards and spread positivity. Lay out some supplies, put on some music, and spend an afternoon on something that will truly brighten someone’s day. You can even organize a friendly competition between teams and watch how many you can make together!

Good for: Community groups, service clubs, religious organizations

Show Off Your Group's Talents

Film a short video from your team for retirement home residents or frontline workers. If your group members are in band, choir, or on the dance team, this is a wonderful opportunity to share what they love for a good cause.

Good for: Schools, sports teams, performing arts groups, companies

A university business organization in San Diego sent this dance video to retirement home residents.

A company recorded this encouraging message for retirement home residents.

This group of corporate volunteers in Harrisburg, PA assembled care packages and wrote cards!

Assemble Care Packages Together

Gather your group to put together care packages for nursing home residents or children in the hospital. It is a simple, hands-on activity that anyone can take part in, and every package goes directly to someone who will appreciate it.

Good for: Company teams, school clubs, service groups

Electronics Drive

Collect used phones, tablets, and e-readers from your school or company. A device that would otherwise sit in a drawer can give a senior a way to stay in touch with their family and loved ones.

Good for: Companies, schools, universities

A single device donation can enable dozens of residents to video-call loved ones.

Our Puerto Rico chapter is run by students and regularly organizes local events.
